I’m Elzahne Roodt, the heart and hands behind DezignR. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the magic of interiors—the way light transforms a room, how colour and texture can evoke emotion, and how a thoughtfully designed space can completely change the way we feel, live, and connect. Interior design, for me, is not just about aesthetics—it’s about creating environments that reflect identity, celebrate individuality, and support everyday life in meaningful ways.
In 2018, I made the life-changing decision to move to Canada, and with that, I took a step back from my professional design journey. The move opened my eyes to new cultures, lifestyles, and design influences, and gave me space to grow both personally and creatively. During the global Covid-19 pandemic, I returned home to South Africa—a time marked by immense change, reflection, and also the profound joy of becoming a mother. These years away from the industry reminded me of what fuels me most: the joy of creating beautiful, functional spaces that speak to the soul.
Now, with fresh inspiration and a renewed love for interiors, I’m excited to be back doing what I love. DezignR is a deeply personal venture where I pour my creativity and care into every project. Whether it’s a cozy home refresh or a full-scale transformation, I work closely with each client to design spaces that feel authentic, timeless, and truly lived-in. Based in Bloemfontein and offering virtual consultations across South Africa, DezignR brings thoughtful design solutions to wherever you are.
